Objection

The objective of the plan was supposed to be rejuvenation of the high street. However, the plan will involve the demolition of 2 large units (Next and New Look) with no opportunity to relocate these retailers meaning the town is actually losing shops rather than gaining them. The town needs recognised brand retailers to cater for local residents needs as well as encouraging other footfall into the town. There is also far too many residential properties on the plan with not enough provision for parking in the immediate area not to mention health care, schooling etc for these additional residents. The visual representations of how these high-rise buildings will look make it clear that this amount of new residential property in the town centre is totally out of keeping with the town. Planning permission should absolutely be denied.
