Overdevelopment - number of dwellings proposed is too high for the area. Loss of parking - as well as being inconvenient for local residents (especially those with limited mobility), this will have a negative impact on trade for local businesses. Apparently the applicant is assuming that most residents of the new flats will not have cars, which seems like a fairly unrealistic assumption. Traffic congestion - see above (already an issue). Out of character with local area - Buxton is a unique town, culturally and architecturally. The proposed development makes no attempt to reflect that uniqueness (could just as easily be in Croyden or Basingstoke. Overall, this proposal offers no benefit to the residents of Buxton and serves only the developers, who get to build and sell residential properties. I would be surprised and disappointed if the approval body sees any merit in this proposal
