I object to the current proposals that will lead to loss of car parking space. Every day, with the exception of Sunday, the car park is at least 75% and upwards full so we can't afford to lose so many spaces. My mother who has a disabled badge shops at Waitrose and needs to be near the supermarket door. I also object to the housing scheme and think it is I'll thought out. Who would want to live in a town centre carpark? There are many brownfield sites in Buxton to build new accommodation on. I don't believe transport links are good enough for young professionals (presume they are your target market for 1 bed flats). The architecture for the designs do not reflect the current town centre buildings. The need for a lift to different levels of the centre is a bit ridiculous! You just need access (as it is currently) to the Springs shopping centre and pedestrianised main street by being able to drive up, walk or get off a bus, again as it currently stands. I feel that current businesses such as Next, New Look etc will leave town due to reduced footfall and we can't afford to lose these chain stores. Tourism would be severely disrupted due to the major changes proposed and touring coach companies will miss us off their route. In summary, please reject these plans that do not reflect the needs of our wonderful, historic spa town.
