Objection

I do not think the development in it's current form should go ahead. The architectural style should match the rest of the town rather than being far more modern than. A good example of this is the Southgate Shopping Centre in Bath, built in 2007, which is in keeping with the Georgian and Palladian architecture of Bath even though it is a new development. Since Buxton was modelled after Bath, it would make sense to follow a similar example. That being said, I do think the town centre needs redevelopment and the addition of new green space and opening up the river Wye is a good idea. I also think parking needs a re-think if hundreds of additional homes are to be added.
