I myself and a vast majority of the people i know who live within buxton are very unhappy with the plans for completely overhauling our town centre. We feel very strongly against the idea of modernising our town and the developments we've seen completely go against what buxton stands for. This is a victorian town not another mediocre simplified example of modern garbage. Our town has history and it seems like you want to erase that it seems. Your completely missing the point when saying you're thinking of the blending from the surrounding buildings to make it feel the same. Your using the same sandstone yet incorporating such a drastic contradicting design that completely strays from what the aesthetic of buxton is. I tell you this we'll go to hell before we let you destroy the victorian heritage of this beautiful victorian town. We want conservation not re-imagination, we want restoration not eradication causing us to lose what little historical architecture we'll have left with after you go through with these insane plans. If you really care about what the people want then conserve everything we have already and make old damaged architecture beautiful again. In final words, restore not rebuild. Buxtons victorian heritage matters immensely to the people of this town and over modernising it will ruin what it already has. We agree that the shopping centre itself requires a redo but the surrounding buildings and shop fronts need to be left alone. Nothing built on top of it, just detailed restoration and conservation. that is what we want. Ever year thousands of tourists visit this town for its stunning old architecture, variety of stunning small businesses and arcades. Please listen to what we have to say. If you care about our opinions then act upon them, and in doing so you will make our town happy and flourish again once more. Remember restore not rebuild.
