I object to the proposed development HPK/2026/0228. I am worried about the amount of proposed housing on this site will not only deeply affect the shopping potential of our historic town which is already suffering with a lack of maintenance, Spring Gardens has been for many years the main Shopping are in lower Buxton. I fear that this large development of small housing units will have a long term future problem with anti social behaviour, we already lack things for our young people to do.There seems to be not enough thought to many issues that will occur in the winter months when we regularly get inclement weather with long periods of Ice and snow try pushing a shopping trolley over the proposed distance in those conditions as stated in the application. The town needs more parking facilities than is provide in this application I am worried that this application does not provide enough provision for healthcare, disabled access or any sort of accessible social hub and won't attract the types of businesses that will benefit us all who live here as well as visitors to Buxton. It also does nothing to complement the historic buildings we have already The Crescent, Slopes and Pavilion area are a jewel in our crown. We run the risk of this development becoming a strain on the road system, parking congestion where at busy times especially will people park. Please do not allow an over development of what should be our chance to achieve a better place for us all to live and work and a shopping area that is usable and fits in not with the main interest in just raising revenue.
