Objection

1. Too much additional housing which, I understand, will be for rental only - this feels like profit grab for the developer over and above the benefits to the town, its inhabitants both private and commercail, and visitors. 2. Insufficent emphasis on local businesses, where the plans seem to favour housing more than commercial use. Buxton needs more investment from shops, bars, restaurants not less. For example, I understand that Next have not been included by the developer in the planning application, and they want a bigger store than existing. Buxton needs shops like Next and Waitrose to survive and thrive. 3. Insufficient parking to be made available and locations for parking are less convenient, especially for older people or those with mobility issues. 4. Inadequate consideration given to access for disabled people. 5. I understand there is no impact assessment for businesses that would surely be affected by the reduced parking provision. Why not? 6. I understand there is no impact assessment on the economy and well-being of the town of Buxton itself, immediately post and long after the developement. Why not? 7. In my opinion the appearance of the development will not be fully inkeeping with the surrounding and other Buxton buildings. 8. No proposals for increasing the infrastructure, i.e. doctors, dentists, other facilities that are over-stretched currently, that will be moreso due to the additional housing proposed. 9 x number of years of disruption and nothing mentioned about how the existing businesses will be catered for during this period. In conclusion, Buxton does not need additional housing in this central location, it needs a regeneration that benefits the local and visiting population and the existing commercial businesses and also attracts new businesses. The proposal seems to be for the benefit of the Developer more than anyone else. Please consider my objection. [Page 2]
