I feel that the majority of this redevelopment seems to be focused on rental properties. Looking at other developments Capital and Centric have completed, the minimum rent on a one bedroom apartment is £1100. This is unaffordable for the average person, especially someone living alone. This needs to be taken into consideration and not targeted at professionals who live outside the Town. We need more independant shops and affordable rents ti attract these businesses as well as affordable business taxes/ incentives to encourage new trade in the town. I am worried about the river being opened up and becoming a dumping ground for rubbish. What controls will be in place to ensure C abd C will maintain the gardens and manage the site appropriately. I am concerned about the different levels/stepped areas in the plan. Its not clear to me what provision is made for the less able bodied. What happens to the businesses in the area during the construction, including access. Parking is a real concern. Many residents in Buxton don't have access to regular, affordable public transport and need to use their cars to access the shops in town. It isn't clear how much of the current parking available will be accessible while construction goes ahead. I know the council have acquired the parcel of land next to the railway station but understand planning hasn't been passed to turn it in to a carpark. Disabled drivers will be greatly disadvantaged during the construction. Priority needs to be given to maintaining the original Edwardian and Victorian buildings. Don't destroy our heritage and allow it to become an industrialised monstrosity.
