The vast increase in the amount of housing in the proposal changes the nature of the development and has a major impact on the town, meaning that the town centre will be less attractive to visitors and existing Buxton residents. The size of the new buildings will also have a negative impact on the listed buildings in the town. The new plans vastly underestimate the amount of parking needed for the properties and the increase in traffic that the proposal will generate. The design of the new properties and the scale are likely to discourage tourists rather than bring them to the area.
