The application differs quite significantly from original plans. Whilst I am not against redevelopment, this proposal contains far too many dwellings, all rentals, which will place huge pressure on the town centre notably in terms of car parking, but also potentially create a more transient community which will impact heavily on the nature of the town. The building materials do not blend in with the locality, particularly those facing the station road. See the McCarthy Stone building as an example of how well this can be achieved.
