I object to planning application HPK/2026/0228 in the strongest possible terms. A limited amount of regeneration and some housing in the town centre may be reasonable, but this proposal goes too far. It appears to be overdevelopment, with too much emphasis on housing. It feels less like a developer-led scheme designed only to maximise profit. The plans make me feel claustrophobic. It makes me think of a wall of town houses that would overwhelm the area. I am also very concerned about the loss of parking. Parking is vital for Buxton, especially for older people, visitors and those with mobility issues who need convenient level access. The parking around Waitrose is the main flat access to Buxton, and it is important that as much parking as possible is retained there. I do not qualify for disabled parking, but I am not fit enough to walk long distances or up steep slopes, so losing easy-access parking would make the town much less accessible for me and many others. [Page 2] If the proposal were to be reduced in scale, with less housing, a more varied mix of uses, and proper protection of level-access parking, then it would be much more acceptable. I also strongly object to the company branding being put all over the development - it reminds me of Trump towers - NOT CLASSY. Please stick signs saying Buxton wherever you want as that is our joint identity, but please don't allow them to put their company logo all over the place.
