I wish to object to this developement in the strongest possible terms, for the following reasons. The architecture is totally out of keeping with the historic buildings of Buxton. The development dominates the skyline of a conservation area. Five storey buildings are totally unacceptable, as is the viewing tower. It looks like a city scape in a historic town. Poor materials to be used, again, not in keeping with Buxton. This is nothing but a housing estate. 332 homes is not acceptable. There will not be enough parking. All parking needs to be in an area conducive to shopping easily. Thers is no protection for existing retail units, which will mean Waitrose, the only central supermarket, will not survive. The new retail units are small and will not attract many retailers. Any unused retail units can/will be converted in to yet more housing units, which is wrong. The housing units themselves are for rental, the huge majority at a high price. This increase in numbers will put a strain on doctors, dentists (NHS), schools etc.
