My main objections to this application are twofold. Firstly, the proposed increase in residential properties (now significantly more than in the original brief) will change the character of the town centre and in my opinion will be too dense for the area in question. Secondly, there will be a great reduction in the number of available car parking spaces and that is without accounting for the extra cars that the residents of the new properties will have. Buxton is a tourist town and if visitors can't park they will stop coming; this in turn will have a detrimental effect on all local businesses which may well not survive without the revenue brought in by tourists. I feel it would be better to spend the money on renovating what we already have rather than transforming the town centre into something completely different.
