Initially I was very much in favour of this enhancement of my town. The initial planning ,on display, in a unit within the Springs Shopping Centre looked promising. However, the amount of housing that is now proposed has been increased hugely. The large amount of car parking spaces which are proposed to be lost is ridiculous. It's hard enough to find parking during peak time as it is, never mind if we loose so many. Also, the style of the new proposed buildings do not fit in with our historic town. I am not against change and improvements, but this new application will destroy the look of our town and discourage tourists not encourage them.
