Objection

I object to the proposed planning for Buxton Town centre because looking at the plans it doesn't look anymore about a retail regeneration, but more towards a lot of rentable residential properties, with an afterthought to retail. Also the architectural design is not in keeping with Spa town and just to modern and over powering in height!! There will be a major loss of parking and to assume that new residents will only have one or no car is ridiculous... I am worried that to have this many new people to Buxton, the existing infrastructure (doctors, schools, dentists etc) we have, won't be able to cope as it struggles now. The timescale of the project and disruption to the town and the loss of retail will only drive business and people away. If its a regeneration project, then how about cleaning and maintaining the original buildings in Springardens. The are some lovely buildings looking shabby and in disrepair. I feel the plan as it stands, just isn't right for our beautiful spa town.
