I object strongly to the above development. I believe it to be an overdevelopment for this area and totally inappropriaten for the needs and style of our town. For a while I , like many others. believed that this was planned on being regeneration of the town centre. This now is nothing but a huge residental development and now is all for rental. I was told at the oiginal presentation, that there would be something like 150 houses and apartments, this to include the apartments in the existing Winster Place, which I now know is a separate proposal At that time I was also told that the residential part would be for sale, hopefully to help young local people to get onto the property market within the town. All total lies quite frankly. If this goes ahead it will sound the death knell of once was a truly thriving town,a place to be proud of. I write as a true Buxtonian, born here in 1944. I talk to people in town and have heard not one positive comment about this proposed scheme, elderly(even older than me )worried about being able to shop and be able to get back to a friend or reative's car. Essential for elderly, young mum's with small babies and children and people of all ages with mobility issues. Even if the proposed new car park goes ahead, with its ramps, lifts and bells and whisrles access, it will not be enough!! This is your chance to show that you are doing what you were elected to do and that was surely to protect the interests and residents of this our town. A town widely known an adverised as "The Gateway to the Peak District" --- -- Some gateway it would be!!!!
