Objection

I object to this application on the grounds that it is, essentially, a housing development in the very heart of Buxton. The proposed designs are not in keeping with the overall architectural appearance of Buxton and such large scale housing development can only be detrimental. Not least due to the fact Buxton will be losing 100s of parking spaces. Buxton has been attracting tourists for hundreds of years. Tourism has a vital part to play in the local economy. I also note that the original proposal was for 75 housing units. The numbers have increased with each new proposal. Now we're hearing it could be up to 500, including the development of the buildings adjacent to the old Grove hotel, which will include further housing. There hasn't been enough time given for consideration of the recent proposals. Buxton is at risk of losing what makes it unique and that would be a tragedy. This is not the right development for Buxton.
