I strongly object to this proposal as it stands. Parking is my principal objection. Existing parking especially at weekends is already heavily used. In the summer we have a huge influx of visitors and no many of these visitors do not use public transport they use their cars. I myself live 3 miles outside Buxton and have to drive in as we have no footpaths, no street lighting or public transport. It makes no sense to reduce parking and at the same time create 300 plus apartments which will create significant need for additional parking not less. I know the Council is looking at the possibility of providing additional parking near the station but this needs to be up and running before any parking is taken away. Is the replacement parking suitable for people with mobility issues, young families. It is a long way to carry your shopping back to. How will this impact on local stores. The whole build is not in keeping with Buxton Heritage. The centre is being over developed from the first proposal of just over 100 to now at over 300. I urge this planning to be refused.
