t Comments: We do not feel this proposal for the centre of the town is the way forward. We are not saying we do not want anything to change but it needs to be more in keeping with the historical buildings we already have in the town. Looking at the plans the buildings are very modern and not in keeping with Buxton's architecture. Also the buildings look very high due to the amount of flats that are proposed. This is far too many flats, where are all these residents going to come from and where is the infrastructure to support this. We are already struggling for dentist and doctor appointments, and some of the hospital services we had are now being moved to Stockport. A major problem will be parking for these new residents, current residents and visitors to the town. The plans show that there will be a big reduction in parking spaces in relation to what we currently have in the town. Nothing is mentioned in these plans about Spring Gardens itself, this needs some attention as it is looking very tired and there are already empty shops here, never mind making new shops on the development. Also it seems we will loose Next and New Look due to the size of the new shops proposed. If these shops leave the town it will have a big impact for local residents and the local economy, We want to reject this proposal and look for something more in keeping with the town. Thank you
