The redevelopment of Buxton should enhance the town for locals and visitors as well. This plan seems to prioritise the provision of apartment living above the provision of quality retail outlets. This development seems to greatly reduce the number of parking spaces whilst increasing the number of cars. We already face challenging town centre parking which causes inconsiderate parking on local streets, this problem will only become worse. I haven't really seen what the plan is to ensure that local retailers remain open throughout the redevelopment, I feel that by the end of the development we might have lost a large number of business from the town. I do support the redevelopment of the town but this plan seems to overly favour providing too many rental properties without adequate parking. I would also question who will own these new properties and how the revenue from rentals will benefit local people. I also worry about how transient the renters of these properties might be, again not benefiting local people.
