Objection

I strongly object to this proposal which differs significantly from the one presented to the public in 2025. This now includes a proposal for 332 homes (no affordable housing) and all for commercial rent. This transforms a welcome regeneration programme into a housing development and is not what central Buxton needs. I have huge concerns about the loss of over 100 parking spaces and the introduction of residential accommodation on this scale. This will create a parking issue where one doesn't currently exist. To suggest that parking on the station side of the road would compensate, will create pedestrian problems and compromises access to and from Waitrose. I understand there has been a substantial change to the materials that were suggested would be used in the 2025 consultation, which would have supported the distinctive heritage of Buxton, it seems these have been removed from the planning application, for example roof gardens have been removed and it is suggested that they now be membrane. Some difference! Please don't waste this wonderful opportunity to do something creative & distinctive and in keeping with the heritage of this very special town. We need to have faith in consultations and not find that essential information is hidden from the public.
