Objection

I object to this development. The reduction in current parking is totally unacceptable. The availability of parking, especially during the tourist season is already an issue. The development will reduce available space and also create more demand by the number of residential units. I do not accept the suggest that people living in the units will use public transport (not the most reliable) and bicycles (in winter, really!). The increased number of units is an excessive over development of the space. The initial public consultation does not reflect the plans before the committee. The design and materials that are to be used in the project are not in keeping with the area and are detrimental to Buxton's heritage buildings. The use of these materials is in no way compatible with the towns conservation areas. The claim that the design represents Buxton past and environment is pure spin, even the most abstract artistic mind cannot connect this design to the heritage and culture and surrounding hills of the town. If the development goes ahead in its current format I would not feel Buxton was an attractive place for me to work, shop or eat.
