Objection

I am a a 76 year old woman with arthritis who lives on the outer edge of Buxton, and likes to drive into the centre to shop at Waitrose, Grape Tree, Superdrug and various clothes shops I attended both the public consultations on this scheme, and thought the plan was quite good apart from the parking provision which was quite poor, and the reliance on steps to get between levels. However the plan submitted differs significantly from the plans we were shown, and this would seem to make a mockery of the public consultation, especially as most of the public's objections have been ignored. The new buildings have increased in size to accommodate more residential space, and are out of keeping with the area. There is less car parking space than ever, which is a major issue for those of us who do our household shopping in the town centre, and there is no indication of where the people living in the new apartments will park. I don't think anyone would want to rely on the existing rail service for their transport as it is very poor. There is no mention of additional services to support the 880 people moving here - whatever happened to the health centre we were supposed to be gettng? Is that where the car park is going to be?
