The application is totally unsuitable in size and detail for its location in a historic spa town with its eighteenth century/ Victorian background. A lot of public money has been spent cherishing and developing that environment/context. New investment should respect and enhance what is there now, not overwhelm it with over large and inappropriate development. The comments from Historic England, given their usual stance on developments in the town are unusual. They should be asked to justify their position. In detail.
