HPBC should not be reviewing this application as they have a vested interest, apart from the fact that they may no longer exist in the not too distant future. The revised provision of 300+ housing units appears to have no data to support this number. The majority of these will require a car park space yet the scheme appears to be vastly reducing the parking provision in the scheme. Buxton is not London, cars will be needed to travel around. How can the number of parking spaces be reduced from its current provision of approximately 400+?? This number of housing units puts a "housing estate" in the centre of Buxton. The plot ratios are too high for Buxton and the choice of materials should also reflect the character of Buxton. how are the planners even considering materials , which have been amended following the public consultation to a cheaper specification and aesthetically a retrograde step. The much reduced parking will have no benefit to Waitrose remaining in the town and would be a major blow to Buxton if the revised scheme caused Waitrose to eventually leave the town...The provision of multi storey car parks would not be the solution due to all the problems these bring. It seems astonishing that Historic England appear to support the scheme; is this based on the earlier or current scheme? Why are the more acceptable materials indicated from the initial consultation being used on images that do not reflect the current proposals? Due to the considered impact on Buxton of the current scheme, should it be referred to the Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government? I cannot agree that the current scheme enhances Buxton for the future.
