I strongly object to application HPK/2026/0228. The original plans felt like a genuine town centre regeneration scheme, but this adaptation appears to overdevelop the town centre and turn it into a much larger residential-led proposal. The scale of housing now proposed feels excessive for the site and risks overwhelming the historic core. I am also very concerned about the lack of car parking. Buxton serves a wide rural catchment and many residents and visitors rely on convenient town-centre parking. Reducing parking so significantly would make the town centre less accessible, particularly for older people, disabled people, and those with mobility issues. If the scheme is to be acceptable, the amount of development needs to be reduced so it is more in keeping with the town centre, and replacement parking must be fully approved, deliverable and available before any scheme of this scale is allowed to proceed.
