Objection

I wish to object to this latest planning application. It's not the same as the very first one introduced to the residents of Buxton. Firstly this has now become a housing estate within a high street, that has been given money for its development, priority given to commercial units, not flats and apartments. These dwellings do not have their own parking, something that is vital in this town, as its topology and geography do not lend it to bicycles, and for our more elderly residents or even young mothers with prams and toddlers. There is scant parking compared to now, for shoppers and tourists in the town, to service the supermarket and local high street shops. Building materials seem to have been down graded. Illustrations clearly do not match the planning application. 5 storey buildings will overpower the present buildings and totally change the ambience of Buxton. Buxton is a town of architectural importance, its Arts festivals bring much needed revenue into the town and that is very welcome. Not adhering to this will result in Buxton being just another town, with the same buildings seen everywhere else in the UK. This planning application is not sympathetic to the beautiful architecture we have in this lovely town. I strongly object.
