I strongly object to this planning application. You spoke we listen is Capital and Centric slogan, and in reality it couldn't be further from the truth. Their everyday communication is how the Buxton residents are behind their development which is completely untrue. How very benevolent of them to give us a building complex with the capacity of 550 beds. Centric will be the only beneficiary of this build, taking the revenue and profits. This is Buxton council giving away yet another piece of Buxton. Some of the best retail stores in Buxton including Next will cease to trade and centric have no intention to give them a new home, small independent units being the order of the day. There will be less parking, a lack of retail stores, local bars and restaurants are worried for their futures with a forecast of a five year project, the disruption will be a massive hit. Buxton is a tourist town with its grand 18th century architecture. Tourists bring money into the town and not blocks of flats. More shops, more parking, more bars and restaurants. These institutional decisions will eventually ruin our town! Wake up Buxton.
