1. Lack of parking both whilst the development is taking place and when finished. This will impact existing business' who rely on visitors to the town including those from neighbouring towns and villages who rely on nearby parking facilities. The additional parking behind the station is too far to be pushing trolleys and carrying heavy bags in 'traditional' Buxton weather. 2. Opening of the river, flooding issues? 3. The centre of Buxton is being turned into a housing estate and gives an overall feel of city living and not in keeping with Buxton's heritage. The disruption and lack of shops within the town centre will cause many retail business' to leave and not return. I am however not adverse to 'regeneration', but would like to see it in the way of restoring what we have and supporting local business' rather than turning our town centre into blocks of flats. There are so many parts of Buxton that are being neglected and will continue to be during and after this development, one example being the paving stones around The Slopes/Cavendish Arcade, instead of being replaced when broken are filled in with ugly black tarmac. ________________________________
