Objection

Objections: - Loss of parking, damaging reduction of shopper and visitor parking places in a tourist town and the economic impact of parking reduction on shops and trade. -Inadequate provision of disabled parking which is already under great pressure in an aging population. -Massive overdevelopment. Object strongly to the number of residential units the density of which will have a detrimental impact on the character of the town centre and its adjacent heritage which is what makes Buxton. -Loss of provision for a big retail unit to accommodate NEXT which is highly successful in Buxton -Object to the generic design of the buildings and the materials used. The design is not in keeping with Buxton's character and heritage and looks like a city centre urban space not a unique heritage town centre. -Design and materials significantly impact and detract from the nearby listed buildings and conservation area. These plans are an out of character, overdevelopment of the site with reduced parking. They do not provide what Buxton town centre needs and mean we lose our town centre forever and replace it with a housing development.
