I object to the Buxton Town Centre Planning Application by Capital and Centric as many of the good things included in the consultation have now been removed/changed and Buxton deserves better. My objections are: 1. The number of housing units have increased from 74 to 332 and there is no provision for affordable housing and much of it is rental properties. The emphasis is now on housing and more thought needs to go into areas for businesses and community uses. 2. The quality of materials to be used is of a lower quality than that suggested in the consultation and not in keeping with Buxton. Flat roofs and 5 storey properties are not acceptable or appropriate. The consultation included more green spaces and roof gardens. 3. The loss of parking spaces is impractical and shoppers with trolleys and heavy bags are not going to want to use a lift to access potential parking near the station. 4. More sustainable options should be considered such as solar panels and meaningful greywater recycling. I strongly support regeneration in Buxton but OBJECT to this application as a better scheme is required to ensure that Buxton thrives and that the town centre is an appealing place to live, work and visit for future generations.
