The style of the architecture of the new development is completely out of keeping for the town, and will age horribly, unlike the rest of Buxton for hundreds of years. It's standard modern slop and Buxton deserves something much more. I remember seeing these initial plans as a young child in an empty store in spring gardens, and it's a shame after so long that this is the result. The budget is enormous, hire heritage architects that can design something new that's in keeping with the rest of the town with its local stone and Georgian style. There are many other issues but that is the crux of it. Please do right by our town, new developments are a fantastic idea to rejuvenate the centre but it needs to be done properly. The new shop fronts by the slopes were lovely. Please don't sell out our town, and be a council we can be proud of.
