I feel strongly that this planning application would be a disaster for Buxton town centre, it does not reflect the Georgian Buildings in and around the town, and resulting tourist visitors who come to enjoy the peace and quiet that a smaller market town can offer. The vast increase of housing which does not include utilising current capacity for upgrading local exiting buildings, e.g. empty student housing, Grove Hotel, above existing shops etc and in other areas of Buxton offering better facilities for new homes The loss of trees around station road, palace road and along the path behind railway station, with the resulting loss of wildlife habitat particularly birds, bats and insects The loss of parking in town centre, the proposed parking area is too far from shops, swimming pool, theatre, pavilion gardens for most local people and visitors, and would feel unsafe to walk to after theatre, meals out in the evening etc. too far from shops for most shoppers with supermarket shopping, heavy items, buggies and prams on a narrow approach to parking area, Vast increase in traffic up and down Station Road and Palace Road to access identified new parking area, a road that is currently over capacity especially with large lorries using local roads to avoid motorways' cutting through ' using parking ares for overnight stops, both lorries and camper vans The residents of proposed new housing in town centre would have very outside space for recreation The area around thr rail station including station approach would not be greatly improved for pedestrians, who will have to use this route access town centre with the loss of the pedestrian path through the existing car parking area. I strongly object to this application, which is more suited to a 'run down' inner city development than a market town in the Peak District and a gateway to the Nation Park. It will ruin Buxton ________________________________
