Objection

Original submission is very different to latest iteration in terms of; 1) number of housing units to be built, requiring multistory buildings out of character with adjacent exisiting buildings, 2) quality of materials to be used, 3) consequent impact of increased units on parking for locals visiting retails outlets in town centre. Placing shopper parking at distance from the retail units is nonsensical and will reduce footfall and lead consequently deterioration of the central area as existing retail units close. The developer has made no mention of likely rental charges to new residents. If placed at too high a level this will negate any benefit for affordable housing and result in an AirBnB desert of holiday-let property in the centre of town.
