The development is too large and the Buxton citizens have not been adequately consulted. The development is basically a housing development with a small amount of retail space. The notion that the residents of the new buildings will not have cars is laughable and could only have been thought by someone who has never lived in a semi rural area. The impact upon the lifeblood of the town 'Tourism ' will be devastating. We are very lucky with the amount of pubs, cafes,restaurant's and hotels in our beautiful town but without the tourists we will loose many as have most towns of a comparable size. Parking is another problem even if we do get the people to visit where will they park? The last few weeks with the festival going on has seen almost all of Park rd double parked every day. With the available parking we have now. The retail space in the new buildings who do you think will occupy them. We already have a large amount of retail space that is not filled or is used as charity shops to reduce costs. The buildings are not in fitting with thee Georgian style of our tow and will look out of place.
